A boy blind since infancy,
Stands with his mother in front of a large, plate-glass window – the eye of a shop.
To this boy, the glass feels hard
And to him, anything hard must be solid.
But his mother can see things behind the glass.
How then do you explain the concept of transparency
to such a child?
Or the nomadic clouds which often tear into raggle-taggle strips
and float quite out of reach – high above the World
Or the equally untouchable phenomenon of fork-lightning
Or even twinkling starlight?
