LITERATURE AND PHOTOGRAPHY BLURRING FICTION AND REALITY
For nearly 20 years, I have been collecting my impressions of Portobello beach, in Edinburgh, using my sense of hearing, smell, touch and my keen interest in people, and the differences on the day to day environment. Inspired by ‘Fault Lines’, written by local author Doug Johnstone, I created ‘Uncanny Portobello’, a collection of abstract images that chime with the surreal aspects of the novel. The photographs suggest a sense of mystery and otherness surrounding the fictitious volcanic island that dominates the story.
